Warped Brake Discs

been to toyota yet again to sort my rear brakes out as they are warped.

i 1st took the car in around 6 months ago when it was just over a year old with a vibration and they said they couldnt find any fault with them and to wait for them to get worse.

so i took it back in on 1st sept where the dealership has now told me that toyota wont replace these as they are classing it as a wear and tear item, even though i told them months earlier, but they are replacing the steering wheel again and the front seat.

can anyone advise me on what to do from here on instead of me spending money on a car less than 2 years old.

thanks in advance

Toyota are correct in saying some brake components can be classed as wear ( like brake pads) due to the fact that they have no control over the driving habits of the owner. But I would say brake disc run out, or the disc being warped would not come under this heading. Get Mr T to check the disc run out and give you a report,( is there run out on both discs or one ???) if the pads have not been sticking or seized on, the disc in my opinion must have had some manufacturing fault. It is also uncommon for the rear discs to have this problem, get Mr T to explain how the discs would become warped ( the vehicle presumably has not been layed up and disc corrosion has occured) best of luck

im very upset, toyota said they wont replace my discs because there still in spec which is fair enough, so i went and spent over £200 for a full set of grooved discs, ive just fitted the rears as it got to dark to see, but when i road tested the car the brakes are still vibrating at the same speed, so i rotated the discs several times and tested but still vibrating, so has anyone had any problems with the hubs being warped?

thanks

If the Brake Discs are within tolarance how come they were condemed as being warped ? also if on the very unlikely event of the Hubs being damaged any runout on the Hubs would show up on the Disc runout test. Does this appear at slow speed or what, is it felt from the Brake Pedal or Steering, it may even be a ABS fault like a broken sensor reluctor ring or the actual sensor Big Auris

it was doing it most of the time, it was juddering the car, sometimes felt the pedal bouncing but mainly around 35mph, i had the car on the brake rollers at work (im a mechanic for 11yrs) and the rears was juddering 20kg, took it to mr t who also said it was the rear discs so decided to fit my front discs tonight and road tested to bed them, to my suprise the juddering has stopped.

never would have guessed that the fronts would also be at fault, the rollers didnt pick anything up when i checked them when i did the rears but thats 1 to remember.

thought i would have had some vibration through the steering wheel like most other cars.

so problem solved.

thanks for the replies guys

great help
