New Sound System

Last time I got a new car stereo I went the rather expensive Halfords root. They had some sort of offer on to get free fitting with your extortionately priced in car stereo. As I had the money back then I had a £300 Pioneer MP3/CD player with bluetooth fitted. I've since found the bluetooth part barely worth having apart from a few motorway conversations with friends and family.

I've built PCs and upgraded them so how easy/hard is it compared with that to fit a car stereo, they seem to have all sorts of crazy connectors on them from what I noticed when removing my Ford (as it was then) stereo from my Fiesta.

I'm not bothering with Speakers as the Yaris (as did the fords) seem to me to be plenty loud enough and I'm not one for stadium level sound taking up half my already small boot space. So any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers folks!
