Hi

I currently drive a vw lupo. I enter it in show and shine comps all over the country. I also use it for day to day driving. My girlfriend has also moved to essex and this is becoming a 450 mile round trip at times.

long story short I am looking for a new car to take the strain of my show lupo and I am strongly concidering the aygo. my only reservation is the 3 and a half hour drive to essex. is this going to put too much of a strain on the little 3 cylinder engine or does it hold its own on the motorway?

I will upload some pictures of my lupo shortly and should I get an aygo it will not be standard for long in sure.

Sean.

Honestly I would not recommend for motorways due to wind noise and buffeting. That is the only reason I am getting rid of my Aygo and buying an IQ instead. If you are going to upgrade the sounds and fit a sub etc it might be ok

I dont mind a bit of noise im used to the rattles and loud exhaust of mine.

Will the long motorway trips cause a noticable strain on the engine?

i used to travel for 2 hours each way to and from work in my 1st aygo in 2005 and did that for 3and a half years :) no problems at all :D as long as u dont abuse the poor little engine it will respect u back

Our Aygo is a regular user of the a13, m25 and m20. No problem with wind, either buffeting or noise! (only the cabbage and baked bean type :yahoo: ) engine and road noise can be negated by turning up the stereo and at 65-70 it will go all day!

As someone else has said, look after the engine, don't thrash it and it will last!

Not driven mine on a motorway yet so don't know!

But it is probably down to personal choice so why not hire one for a day or two and try it out for yourself? Could avoid an expensive mistake (I have made plenty mind)

My second fill up - first one that gives mpg. Works ok on fuelly but doesn't link to this site. Strange because it worked fine for my Prius! ...and will add my wife's RAV
