Steering Clunking Noise, (Intermediate Shaft)

I have a RAV 4 on an 06 plate which for a few months now has had a clunking noise on the steering which is getting progressively worse. I have managed to find a technical data sheet produced by Toyota on the net. It seems as this is a common problem on certain models. Toyota local dealer wants £500 to replace it. Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

have changed mine due to the same issue. now all looks in order.

Yes its a common problem as Igor says.

A well worded letter to Toyota GB might get it done under warranty or if you are reasonably handy with the tools you can buy one off Kingo and do it yourself.
