hi, i added those led lights that you get off eBay to the front courtesy light and the dome courtesy light.

they work if you switch on and off manually, but when you put the switch on "door", so it swtches on and off when the door opens and closes, the dome light stays on constantly and the front light doesnt come on at all, even when you start the engine it should switch off but it doesnt. i have tried other bulbs and the same thing happens.

i havnt touched any of the wiring or anything like that, just thought maybe someone out there could help?

all the lights switches, were working before, all i did was change the bulb.

my avensis is 2000 model (t22).

thankyou in advance.

Hi,

If you have checked all the door switches and the dash door open light is working properly, the LED light could have damaged the intergrated relay.

The intergration relay is located behind the passenger storage compartment. There is also an intergrated relay by the interior fuse box, but I am not sure what ii's function is.

The problem with aftermarket things like the LED lights, is that some cars have systems that need the correct load or will be damaged. The delay circuit may be damaged so is stuck on.

I am not sure about after market LED kits, but some come with a ballast to protect the circuts.

Do a resistance check on the original bulb and the LED light to see if there is a difference.

You have unwittingly warned the rest of us to beware.
