Interior Lighting Observation

My old Rav, if I recollect correctly (I am getting on a bit) if you opened the rear door all the interior lights came on but the two in the roof went off after 15 seconds? In the new Rav all the lights stay on until you shut the door. Am i remembering it correctly for the old Rav?

The rear door light is still next to useless but Anchormans mod works a treat glad I implemented it.

Not sure what age 'old rav' you mean but on mine 2002, the light stay on for about 15seconds after you shut the door unless you lock the doors or put the key in the ignition, they stay on as long as any door is open though

On my 2008 RAV4, opening the back cargo door only lights that pathetic little lamp on the inside of the door itself. In 2009, they changed it so that the dome lights and map lights up front also come on. I've been meaning to run a wire from the cargo door switch to the rear door switch on the left side to accomplish the same thing...
