does anyone know why my car is using so much oil. I check every week and sometimes theres none on the dipstick. What could be the problem. Also my belts wont stop squeaking. I've tightened them up but it hasn's sorted. It sound's loke a taxi when i have my lights and heater on. Anyone know about this. CHeers toby

My SR uses quite alot of oil too... i think its just what they do... its had a engine rebuild which has cut down on pinking but its still using the same amount of oil that it did.

Just do oil changes every 3k miles and you should be ok :)

Sounds like the fan belt... just buy a new one. Mine was doing the same so i got a new one and it fixed it :D

yeah but i only put a new one in 2 months ago. It wasn't a toyota part it was camberly auto factors (like uni part) could this be a prob???? It shouldn't be. Sound like a diesel some times.

belts can be too tight and too slack. Rough rule of thumb is that if you find the longest span between the various pulleys, you should be able, using fingers only, to twist the belt thru 90 degrees with difficulty

cheers mate, and if it does twist to 90 degrees with diffulculty what else could it be. I've spayed it with wd 40 and lube but to no avail. Any chance of that rear disk conversion andy or shall i wait for the engine. TOBY
