Toyota Landcruiser Amazon 4.2Td 100Series 1998

hi guys, just bought a landcruiser 4.2td Amazon. start and drove it back350 miles with no problem what so ever drove it for a week and had no problem however left it a few days and went back to it.... problem occured car starts up straight away with out any problem what so ever. however its in limp mode. if you turn it off and start it back up again, it goes out of limp and drives perfect... however recently the limp mode is not fallin out. its staying put. does anyone know what it might be... have had it on a computer.. where its coming up with a acceleration sensor fault dont want to have to buy one if it iisnt. as the part is a complete unit with pedal . which costs over 540pounds please please any help would be greatly appreciated
