Diesel Knock

Hi guys, My 1995 SSRX 3.0l and driving is fine it drives like a dream but on idle it has what sounds like bad diesel knock or a pinking noise which dissapears at 2000rpm. Any ideas?

Possibly. I've been doing some reading and my viscous fan has a bit of movement, could this be the cause?

It's only doing it on idle once driving or over 2000rpm it purrs like a dream

you have an overfueling effect due to bad performance of injectors (nozzle tips wear down)

have all injectors calibrated on the fuel stand and your dream will continue
