Carina 2 Gl Immobiliser

I recently found I have an immobiliser and alarm but now I don't know how to reset it. There is no buttons on the fob and wondered if it would be easier to fit a replacement or get it bypassed. Its an XL not a GL and the alarm was factory fitted.
