I want to change my disks and pads. I have started at the rear first.

I have removed the lower caliper fixing bolt and hinged the caliper up. To change the pads I need to screw in the piston but I can only screw the piston in a quarter of a turn. It needs !Removed! in more to become flush with the casting. Can any one suggest how to get round this. This is the first time I have attempted to carry out some mechanical diy on the brakes but I am willing to learn.
