Part Name Help - Avensis 2008 Tr

Had a scary moment this moment this weekend whilst driving my avensis.

Was doing 50mph on the A10 when I heard a repeating loud thunk, as I pulled over to check it out the engine cut out and the steering 'locked'.

Turned out that either the auxiliary belt frayed and damaged an electrical component or the electrical component came detached and got caught up in the belt,

I had just had it serviced at main dealer days earlier so would like to think a worn belt would have flagged up!

Anyway I would like help identifying the electrical part that was damaged, it's grey, triangular, has 3 pins and male/female sides. I don't think it's connected to sensors as no warning lights are showing on dash but does prevent car from starting when disconnected.

Many thanks in advance

Chris.
