:help: Just bought a Supra SZ import (very nice motor - pics to follow) and wondered if I fitted 18" rims would it improve the handling in the wet? 213/40/R18 front and 235/40/R18 rear. Also, if I dropped it, which shocks do the best job to stop the "roll"?

Any help would be grateful. :ffs:

In general, stiffer suspension (shocks/springs and thinner sidewalls on low profile tyres) will make grip in wet worse.

That said, our car is on 235/35x19 and 30mm lower springs and is still prefectly controlable,

Suspension: Eibach 30mm lowering springs all round.

Wheels & Tyres: 8.5x19in alloys with 235/35x19 tyres

:D Thanks Scott.

Is there anything that can be done to make it stick in the wet?

I don't want to kill my car on my first roundabout in the rain...

congrats on the supra mate,

has it still got the original japanese tyres on?

i imported my supra tt in november and finally changed my wheels and tyres last week.

The jap tyres are only speed rated up to 110mph and would still go sideways at 80mph but since i put the new high end yokohama tyres on, the difference is unbelievable, it now keeps the back end in even when pulling out of a junction.

The tyres aren't cheap but the difference is massive.\

hope thats some help.

Midnightsupra, I think it's F.A.B :D

I've only got the original jap tyre on the 'spare'

Last week I purchased some 2nd hand 17" rims

and fitted Eagle NCT 215/50/R17 front and Eagle F1 225/45/R17 rear.

Hope this makes it stick in the wet

Anyone in Cheshire area facy a 'mini' meet over the weekend?

Goodyear F1's are good but, it's best to stay off #2 turbo in the wet really, even if you have RLTC fitted.
