it would be nice to see an arranged meet actually happen rather than just talked about on the forums.....I wont count the chickens yet.

Then PM them and organise something...

Start with a day meet and work from there

I could be up for a meet. Only in coventry. As people have said would need to know some dates, uni + working. Would be good to actually meet up and see some of these mods ;).

I was going to suggest if we have an Auris meet it should be near Burnaston as that's where they were all born! :)

Depending on numbers, how about if someone could talk to Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK at Burnaston re a small meet somewhere at the plant - and someone could investigate with TMMUK as to whether there could be a tour of part of the plant or something similar.

What do people think?

I used to work there ha

It's nothing to shout home about, or maybe I take it for granted now

330 cars a shift last time I was there.

My next door neighbour works there, he drives one of the little parts trains!

I've been round the factory a couple of times.

I'll see if I can get in touch with their PR people, will need an idea of numbers though folks.

"doesn't do the auris 'scene' any good ;)"

Shame, there appears to be an age restriction on this meet that will rule me out

The 'Auris scene' doesn't exist - same as the age restriction .....

Where did the notion originate from that there was an age restriction as per Bruce's comment at post #36?

Ditto Auris scene?

Appreciate that none of the above exist but just curious why anyone would think they did.

Blimey, I am 61 but still a passionate car enthusiast (aka petrol head) and would love a factory tour.

Never meant to be taken seriously :help2:

OK - missed that.

Anyway, nothing wrong with a bit of "Old" Auris and "New" Auris mixing it - could learn a bit from one another no doubt.

Only seems like yesterday (aka the 70's) that I may have made similar comments to posts #12 & 14 - ashamed now looking back.
