I WANT TO USE A SOLAR PANEL CHARGER TO "TOP UP " MY Battery ON MY AURIS 2.0 D 2007, AND WANT TO KNOW ...IS THE CIGARETTE SOCKET LIVE WHEN THE IGNITION IS SWITCHED OFF? IF IT ISN'T THEN THIS SOLAR PANEL WOULD BE OF NO USE I ASSUME?

Don't think it is - as when I've used my TomTom previously, the light on the charger doesn't illuminate until the ignition is in the accessory position.

Frosty is correct it is not live until the ignition is in the accessory position
