Left Indicator Causing Central Locking To Go Haywire.

Hi

I have a 1996 Rav4 3-door and today I noticed the central locking would not work - though the driver's door does open.

Then whenever I use the left-indicator the central locking goes crazy - rapidly opening and closing the doors. Indicating right is no problem, just the left.

Any ideas what might be causing this? Could water have got in somewhere? Is there a fuse for the central locking where I can at least stop the madness when going left?

Thanks for your help.

Les

Do all left hand indicators flash properly - do any other lights flash dimly when the left hand indicators are flashing? These sort of problems are often due to a bad earth

The indicators work perfectly - no dimness.

I have also just noticed the doors lock themselves randomly - though the central locking does not work at all with key entry. (The passenger door lock has never worked so unable to see if it is limited to the driver's door or not.)
