Exhaust Manifold

My engine started making a tapping noise yesterday, its got enough oil in it, its louder when the revs drop, the tapping happened a week ago than stopped, now its started again. Any ideas what it could be before i take it to a garage and pay loads to fix it? I spoke to the guy i got the engine off and he said he had the same problem and it was only the exhaust manifold had come loose. Is this common on the corolla t sports?

Hi,

Don't know if it is your problem, but have seen posts in this forum about a loose baffle inside ,I believe, the Inlet manifold that causes a ticking/rattle sound.

Seems there is a diy fix for fitting a securing screw - just use 'search' this forum to find those posts.
