Squeaky Rear End

Recently been getting a squeaking noise from the back of the car at motorway speeds.

I've tracked down where the noise is comming from, and it's the panel below the numberplate on the tailgate.

Please see picture (panel outlined in red).

Can anyone tell me how get at this panel so I can tighten it or my be apply a bit of sealent?

Many thanks in advance.

Is the bump stop in place on the bottom left of the door? - the door will vibrate if the stop doesn't rest against the frame. The panel is obviously clipped to the door - theres an article in the technical pinned section by Jolly Friar about changing the rear door - this might give an insight in how to remove the panel without damage - however all the pictures seem to have vanished - not sure what needs to be done to rectify this.

Thanks for your reply. Yes the bump stop is in place.

I've tried various "fixes" ie. cleaning the seals and applying silicon lube, greasing hinges, catches etc... non of it worked.

Turns out to be the panel below the number plate. I can replcate the same noise by gently pushing it.

The noise only happens at motorway speeds so must be air turbulence pushing against that panel.

I'll keep searching. Thanks again.
