Rav4 Newbie Help Please

Hi all great site!

Wondered if anyone can help...not long bought a 2008 d4d xtr and wondered if its normal for the display to say initial check the spanner sign vsc 4x4 evrytime the ignition is on....it only stops on for a couple of seconds.

Yes this is perfectly normal, as you start the car it is carrying out a check of all the systems to confirm they are all operating normally.

Thanks mate....think this is normal procedure but just wanted to check as been having problem with rattling when accelerating and reading threads seems like it could be an injector problem but car (purchased from arnold clark last month} had two months warranty on it so booked it in for wednesday

so is this rattling noise (injector problem) a common thing on rav4's a common thing?

Not sure what that would be. Had my Rav 10 years this November and never had a problem with the injectors.

well just dropped car off so they can look at it tomorrow.....fingers crossed as i'm taking caravan down devon for whitsun
