I wouldn't say so.... It's if it will short anything else in your instrument cluster and also could it start a fire from shorting out!

It can range from not a cause for concern to big trouble.....

If it were mine i would leave it. Does your instruments dim up and down ok?

B1585 = USB malfunction on a Toyota and is stored when a faulty/non compatible device ( USB/IPOD ) is connected to the USB port. Toyota state clear the DTC and connect a known good device if fault reoccurs replace Audio/Nav unit

  • 9 years later...

I just got this code.

I was messing around with several memory sticks full of music, and I think one of them had a non-FAT format or something wrong with the format.

Interesting tough, Techstream also specifies that "speed 0 mph"... true

I could not take the car last week , so I took it to the main dealership. They are going to order door mechanism?

I have booked the car for n3xt Thursday. Keeping my fingers crossed, apart from this problem, it has been extremely reliable car.

On this model when it his working properly, when you lock with the fob or the front doors handles' sensor, I should lock the doors & fold both door mirrors.

But now the only way I can lock is by using the passenger sides door handles' sensor & there is no noise of missing cog if I use the fob or the driver sides door handle sensor. The only extra thing that I to do is to fold the mirrors using the button on the dash before locking it with passenger side doos' handles' sensor.
