I thought id make my first how to fix for a squeaky boot on a GEN7 Celica

Symptoms: When going over even the slightest bump you get sqeaks from the boot area. This is caused by worn rubber boot bushes.

as you can see below mine are well worn and cracked.

Fix: There are a few ways to fix the issue, the cheapest way is to do what ive done.

1. Remove the screws holding the rubber to the side of the boot body

2. place a couple of washers behind each screw, for mine i used a couple of 2mm washers on both screws (4mm on each)

3. do the same to opposite side

4. test your boot closes smoothly

5. take for a test drive and be happy no more sqeaks!!

6. if it is still sqeaking try a couple more mm, if this doesnt work then i would suggest this is not your issue.

You can also put some insulation tape on the upper rubbers on boot lid if you dont have any washers to hand. this will also solve the issue.

These rubbers can be replaced but i can onl seem to get them from a mains dealer. for me id rather just do a couple of washers and its all good!
