Sr180 Goodbye

After 5 and half years and 70,000 miles in my ownership (81,500 on the clock) I have passed on my SR to a new keeper.

On reflection it has been one of the best cars I have owned in terms of cost of ownership, retained value and reliability. I have previously owned VW, Subaru and Saabs from new with more issues.

Not bad for a standard production Japanese diesel, but as a package I think they still have much to offer.

All in all apart from tyres / servicing / fuel and extended warranty which paid for a replacement water pump last year there have been no other bills to note apart from wipers and a tail light bulb.

How many cars can you say that about over this mileage and period?

Enjoy the cars while you can because I think they are the last of the breed until Toyota produce a warm diesel again perhaps BMW powered!

Pete
