3.4 litres including filter, 3.2 excluding filter - 0W-20 being Toyota's preferred oil.

5W-30 can be used - but Toyota's preference is 0W-20

Wonder why they gave me 5/30 oil I checked the last service from them and it's 5/30 also.though the oil was free when you buy a service kit from them so not going to argue.

Although Toyota's preferred grade has been 0W-20 for a while a lot of garages, including some main dealers, still bung 5W-30 in. Not that it should do any harm, I think the switch to 0W-20 was just supposed to slightly improve fuel efficiency wasn't it??

Under the Block Exemption regulations, car manufacturers cannot insist that dealers use a particular oil. So if they give a choice of grades, which Toyota do in this instance, dealers are free to choose whichever of the two they use.

The 0W-20 will give better economy and easier cold starting
