Hello Chris - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

An alarm was not standard equipment - just an immobiliser and deadlocks.

Just checked the 2009 Auris brochure and only the 2.0 D4D is listed as having an alarm as standard - not the petrol or the 1.4 D4D. Bear in mind that the owner's manual covers several countries and specifications.

I'm pretty sure our 2011 Auris has a button beside the front interior light which deactivates the interior sensors. If you've got this button it would suggest yours has the alarm.

Alternatively open a window then lock the car with the remote. Leave it for a few mins then lean into the car and open the door from inside, I'm pretty sure that would set off the alarm of you have one.

To test you can also lock the car and just bang on the rear bumper. That sets mine off...so does strong winds though -_-
