Cylinder 2 Mystery

Dear all,

I have a Yaris from 99 with the small engine. Recently the second cylinder stopped running and I got error codes: P0302, P1300, P1305 and P1310

I replaced the sparkplug, which looked quite sad, and the injector which supposedly was not working. I start the engine, still no cyl 2 function. I replace the coil, still no function. I pull the socket on the injector and no indication that it injected anything. The ECU sends electric signal to the injector though. I disconnected the Battery. All error codes gone and they don't come back when I start and run the 3 working cylinders.

Do those codes suggest there is somthing wrong with the ECU? Does it need to be reset somehow?

It seems almost like the ECU still remembers problems on cyl 2 and therefore witholds fuel.

I don't even know where the ECU is located

Also, does the ignition coil measure compression somehow? P0302 on engine codes.com says possible cause can be insufficiant cyl compression!

Thanks! It was quite simple after all. The cylinder has zero compression and leaks oil.
