Coilover Issues

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone's had the same issue I have with the Aygo/108/C1?

We fitted AP coilovers and re-used the standard top mounts as you're supposed to. The only issue is the mount sits 2mm too high, so when the suspension drops, the 2mm gap closes and makes a knocking sound.

Anyone got any ideas?

I had a similar situation with my Vogtlands which may or may not be the same. I initially fitted just the stock top mounts (as stated in the instructions) but like you ended up with a gap which knocked. I hadnt fitted the stock top spring cups as it seemed pointless and they were clearly redundant when using the coilovers. However, I took it all apart, added the top cups and voila, problem solved. It seems that when the coilover manufacturers say 'original top mounts must be used' (which makes sense) what they actually should be adding is 'including the top spring cups which although doing nothing, are required to take up free play'....
