:( Car Cuts Off After 1 Second

Hi,

I have bought a 1.0l 2005 plate toyoto aygo from a dealer in Milton Keynes who has basically conned me long story short as the car the next day wont start.

I drove it from Milton Keynes to London and the next morning the car starts and after 1 second it cuts off.

It has an after-market alarm fitted on top which has been disabled - Sigma S30.

The car ran for 1 day and by the night time it was stopped again - starting and after 1 second cutting out.

Could someone help me in the direction to go, I'm limited to options due to budgets but I am competent enough to try DIY Fixes.

MORE INFO:

AA Diagnosed: B21/B27 Immobilser fault

The instrument cluster has all the normal starting symbols but no immobilizer symbol.

When trying to turn the key and having it start and stall out - the same symbols remain on the car as before.

They only clear if the car would start - on its 2 occasions.

Thanks

have you tried replacing the Battery in the fob just incase it is flat

i know its a long shot but it must be worth a try.

Can you not get it back to the dealer and have them sort it out? Honestly, that is the first thing to try as once you start fettling with it they will use that as an excuse to get out of their duty to sort it out.

Try turning the key back slightly, there was a problem with the contacts of the ignition switch, turning it back slightly will return the key to where the contacts are at the best.

Thanks guys,

Sorry for the late reply.

The garage said it's the factory immobilizer.

They said if they clear the fault codes by the Bosch machine the fault will go but will return.

i have used them in the past and always had a good service from them

they will be able to supply everything you need i am sure.

Hi all, hope you had a good happy new year - the London fireworks show were on point!

Toyota have taken the vehicle today and will be diagnosing it.

If it's not too expensive then I'll let them fix it.

So far Toyota have said to me:

The current key is not recognized to the immobilizer.

I am having the other key dropped off which they will need to register to the car.

Will keep you guys updated.

Hi all - it appears to be the after market alarm causing the fault.

Toyota is currently fixing it however I've never heard of their hourly rate > £120 per hour?

Didn't know Toyota sold high performance 6.3l twin turbo Aygos (with nitros or supercharger bolt-ons)

Is this price justified?

Obviously they'll fix the issue but should I complain about the cost or is it too late as I've verbally agreed at the time.

Hi All

Sad news I'm afraid - Toyota couldn't fix it.

Apparently someone has cut the wiring loom connecting to inside the ECU.

They said an auto-electrician may be able to fix this.

Could someone help?

Even I could bypass the immobilizer somehow just so I can use the car!
