Possible Purchase

I have been offered a very good looking private sale Lucida 4WD X spec, 94 on L plate, 113k km with a few toys, but not all of them for 4100 pounds. Only major problem seems to be that there no band expander fitted to stereo. Is this a difficult/expensive item to get fitted? does this sound like a fair price?

Obviously it is up to you but in my opinion that is a bit steep. The band expanders are about £15 and can be bought in any Sextons Audio shop plus many other places so that is not really an issue. Personally I would not buy one private as you have no guarentees. If you are worried about budget and don't think you can go much newer you would be surprised what deals are about. I have an Estima Emina X-Lux N-reg 1996 which I paid £4500 for at a local dealers with warranty. It has most of the gadgets except parking sensors, hot and cold box and curtains, none of which I wanted for numerous reasons.

Keep looking (in my opinion) and the right one is out there.

Thanks Gareth, sounds like good advice. You mentioned Blackwood 4 X 4 on another thread, do you know if they have a web-site, or do you have a phone No etc. as I am having problems getting in touch? I will be in that area in the next few weeks, so a visit would be easy.

did you say u didnt want the curtains if so do you still have them and a re you willing to sell ,or do you know the where abouts of any more

They do not have a website unfortunately. My house is upside down with building work at the moment and I can't for the life of me find the receipt etc. for the phone number but I will try and get it for you. I think I found it in the local Auto Trader in the 4x4 section, red advert, Blackwood 4x4 Import Specialists Pontllanfraith, Blackwood. It's not a big set-up but they know what they are talking about and have some good deals.

OK I found the number Zeb. 01495 231217 I can't remember the guys name but they are father and son. The son is the more knowledgable of all things mechanical and the father is the money man, he won't be budged on price very easily but the prices are good to start with. You can mention me if you want he will probably remember me as it was only a few months back. ( Gareth from Cardiff, bought an N reg champagne X-Lux)

hi i have the same spec as u and i paid £2900 for mine and the band expander you can get from eBay for about £5

Thanks for the advice etc all, Gareth I have been in touch with Blackwood 4x4 and they no longer sell Estimas. Not a problem now though as I have bought one from a dealer in High Wycombe. 96 N plate Emina with all the toys I want for 4.3K.

I guess that makes me a real member now :)
