Hi can anyone tell me how to tell if the GT4 I've just paid a deposit on is the real deal I'ts a stolen recoverd one and the badges we're nicked. Was there a certain run of chassis numbers??

Help would be appreciated before I have to part with the rest of my cash.

Sorry it's the Carlos Sainz model J plate.

um.. if its the celica it will have a big scoop on the bonnet and goes like poo off a shovel...!

You really need to put up the cash and do a HPI check on a car like that.

You talk about the chassis number.. has the VIN plate gone too?

The cars been through a Vehicle identity check (VOSA) all the chassis and engine plates are there just the interior decor plates which I have been told should be there. Spme aluminium signed plare or such like?

The car looks right with the big scoop and lack of frount fog lights on a different frount bumper?

I'm hoping it really is a deal coz it sounds like work!..

Is it HPI clear or are you not bothered?.. selling it on might be a pain!

It's HPI clear. Just Seems imposible to double check if it's the Carlos Sainz.

If I can work out how to I'll pop a pic here.

It looks like a CS to me.

Is there anything on the back at all as the Carlos will say 'Carlos'.

It seems to be the usual Carlos colour too (and reg).

For a better answer go to GT4

Hi mate -

Its defo a Carlos Sainz ( i should know i have owned about 8 of them  )

right colour, front end and the fact that it has the water Intercooler on top, normal GT4's dont have that..

Oh and it looks luuurvely with them wheels

would also suggest you look by the gear stick as it should have a CS plaque there stating the which number of CS it is ...

you cant miss the Badge.. and if that aint there then it may be a replica with an engine transplant.

Eitherway the car looks the dogs bits and you will love it as it looks like a clean example...

happy motoring...

Thanks "fizz' unfortunatley the plaques have been nicked (trophys I guess) I'd love to get a replacement for them/it (Does anyone have a pic of what they/it should look like). I wonder if toyota could help?

There is an identical looking but original condition CS just down the road from us. It has the CS logo/graphic in sticker form on the front wings.

The owner knows pretty much anything to do with the CS edition of the GT4. I'll ask him for some more info next time I see him

dunno mate,... but if you can get some more.. be wary that they have the car no. on then.. i.e No345... etc etc..

each car from 1 to what ever they went to.. ;)

Thanks again, been on to the GT4OC awaiting reply. Impossible to get to Toyota UK no email address just smail mail (join the 21st C Guys). Annoying because they must have a register of all the chasis numbers that correspond to the CS issue. I'll try the main Toyota web site.

That was another waste of time no email there either :censor:
