Techstream related question.

I could not find a general topic for such a question, so i'm writing it here.

I'd like to run a calibration for the zero point and torque sensor to try to get a firmer feeling in my steering wheel.

There is a manual option, but i'd rather try the one with diagnostic as it seems to be much easier.

My question is, can Techstream do this?  They mention intelligent tester, which i presume techstream also is?

The instructions from Toyota how to do it are as follows:

Fortula,

Did you manage to get the Techstream working? if so what model details did you use?

Mine connects ok, then dects 1ZR, 1ZRE-FAE, but there are several options in the Options box, I'll get some screen capture.

Any tips con selecting the correct option?

Thanks flash22, I think I've sussed it out.

So the options are 'manufacture region' and 'date yymm', I chose 'MTUK,TMMT and Others' as thats the only one has UK in it.

I use an 'old version' of Techstream, and used it on various models including my own Avensis T27 1.8 '09. My car is the old one that does not show the the VIN number automatically. It still detects the engine 2ZRFAE, but I have to choose the region, and non keyless entry. Very powerful tool that has got me out of some issues!
Hope you are enjoying the car. 👍

Mine doesnt show the VIN either, nor did the old Corolla.

Not sure if it to do with the cheap dongle, I use a semi see through, bought off eBay, but with a newer version of Techstream 14.30.

It doesn't matter about the VIN because Techstream identifies the model and sees all the modules on the car. You are really going through you car. It's been 5 years since I bought my Avensis and have learnt a lot. I spent the first year getting the car to be like my previous Mk1 Avensis. I will be following your progress.

Hi there,

Could anyone tell me please why my Techstream v.13 doesn't list my Auris (TS Hybrid)? I'm using a mini VCI J2534 device. VIN is correct, odometer and engine code also, but I had to choose Prius because I could't find Auris. Is it related to the v.13? Is it older than my Auris?...

Any help and advice will be much appreciated. Thanks!

It thinks it's a corolla also look under the NHP model code

Auris hybrid should be a ZWE with the 1.8 2ZR-FXE

Thanks for your reply. I already tried Corolla, since I figured Auris is a re-branded Corolla, but all I got were the 2ZR-FE and 2ZR-FAE engine codes. Now, if I select Prius 2014, I get the correct engine code 2ZR-FXE, but I wonder why techstream does not automatically detect my Model and whether the diagnosis will be correct with the available settings. As I said, VIN and mileage are correctly identified.

Later Edit:

You were right, I had to change the Techstream settings from North America to Europe. Now it shows The Model Code ZWE and Vechicle Spec 2ZRFXE 🙂

Not sure what the TMUK/ TFTM/ GTMC Product mean under Option, but I chose Others and I don't see the Tire pressure monitor tab under System Selection Menu. Also I don't have the Health Check option. However, when I access the different systems in the car, I can see full data. I will still have to learn more about using techstream, for example, under Rearview camera buzzer, the set parameter is "continuously", not sure how to change it.

TM stands for Toyota Manufacturing, TMUK - United Kingdom, TFTM - China ( Tiagin FAW) and GTMC - China (Guangzhou Toyota aka GAC Toyota )

Thank you! So, should I choose TMUK to get more relevant information from Techstream, rather than ”Others”?

Hi everyone, I wish you all a happy new year!

Woke up this morning with a mild headache 🙃 and since there is not much going on, as I was having a coffee I decided to play a little more with my newly discovered toy, namely the Techstream.

So I selected TMUK Product and now I have several options:

-1211

1211-1505

1505-

Not sure which one should I choose. My car is a 2014 model.

Looking forward to your suggestions.

Thanks!

If I understand right, I presume those are dates:

-1211 means until November 2012

1211-1505 means between November 2012 and May 2015

1505- means from May 2015 (till now or end of production of such model)

Am I right?

They might have used ->1211... much clear with the >< chars...

Why 1211 is December 2011?

Isn't it November 2012?
