Front camera Auto light system

Hi all,

I have a 2015 facelift Avensis luna with the pre-collision/lane detection / auto lights system. It regularly throws up the vision blocked error obviously mostly during Winter due to misting.
I've read that Toyota have addressed this issue with an upgraded unit which includes a heater in it. I didnt buy the car new so wouldn't expect any warranty comeback at its age now.

Question I have is that if I buy this unit second hand from lets say an 2018 model, can I replace it myself or does it have to be calibrated and coded to the car?

I do have techstream if needed,

Thanks

Tom

There is a TSB from Toyota for this ref: BE-0072T-1016, you can find it HERE however access is chargeable ( you can pay by hour, day etc and download and save content ) no you can't swap in a later unit and there is no need, the bulletin includes instruction to install a heater pad, harnesses to connect the heater and reflash the TSS unit software which adds heater control and TSS improvements.
