Hi

I own a Toyota Estima Aeras MPV 2002 Import- Please direct me to the appropriate forum/topic to gain advice on soft close ( power assisted at end of closure) sliding doors not working.

I would very much appreciate your help, as the Estima is in good condition otherwise.

My thanks Corojosa

Welcome Abbie....Initially I'd try cleaning the contacts...on the door itself and the pins at the bottom of the B pillar.

I have soft close on mine and thankfully not had that issue in the 4 years I've had it...but I do check the contacts now and again.

Dear Frosty and TP49

Many thanks, this occured some months ago, first time, my mechanic did dig around under the door panel and got the door working again, it has gone again. When it was open as with the other door I have cleaned contacts. The OS door is now firmly shut, electric window not working. Do they have a motor stashed in the rear assembley for the soft close?

To be honest my partner is a good mechanic, ( bit of a bull in a china shop) so trying to do some research before taking off the door panel- apparently not an easy job.

my thanks again
