All suspension been renewed and all good. left with steering rack or intermediate shaft i can feel clunk when rocking shaft back and fourth . I cam also feel the clunk through tie rod inner when holding and rocking steering. Is it shaft or steering rack?

Hi,

Theres a vast price difference in steering racks,  this place ,  EU supplier,  has them ranging from £60 to £1260 !

Might be better to fit a complete new one than trying a repair ..?

Worked it out this afternoon. it is steering rack left hand side has play, not much but enough to notice through steering. Will be changing steering rack 2moro. I figured it out by jacking car up removing wheels  . I removed outer tie rod from hub side , removed inner tie rod boots (covers) .rocking shaft on steering rack both sides i could feel play in left hand side slight noise clunk too. The sound was travelling up steering rack and up intermediate steering shaft on steering column. This is why i thought it was steering column shaft at first , which would have been  easier job than replacing  steeringrack..
