Light sensor

I couldn't help notice when we went out the other night that when we started the car, normally we can see the DRL's shine against the house but they were out, my question is do the DRL's only work in daylight, that way you can't forget to turn your lights on, if so where is the sensor.

Did you still have the handbrake on?

On our Aygo and i20 the drl's only illuminate when the handbrake is off.

Yes, you need handbrake off and in D before they will illuminate.

As far as I'm aware DRL's don't utilise a light sensor - as they should be on at any time the sidelights/headlights aren't on.

It's a manual if it makes a difference.

Just Handbrake off then....and possibly in gear.
