Toyota Auris diesel not starting

Evening new to the club

anyone else experienced starting problems in the morning with a 2.0 diesel Auris 

it’s a 2008 model with 80,000 on the clock , runs and drives very well if u can get it started

it fires up straight away but runs for a millisecond , after several attempts sometimes will run sometimes it won’t . When running drives very well and will start again throughout the day .?

been to the local garage been on the computer , egr valve taken out and cleaned 

fuel tank and lines pressure tested 

still exactly the same they seem to be at a loss as to what it is

reluctant to take it to main dealer as they will  no doubt tell me it’s the injectors 

regardless if it is or not 😒

anyone had any similar problems / solutions /ideas

It sounds like the fuel rail is depressurising over time. So, if not an injector, possibly an issue with the regulator or the high pressure pump itself? 

You mention that the line was pressure tested, but I assume that's just the low pressure feed from the tank. What about the common rail, did they check if it's holding pressure acceptably well (it should be possible to see the pressure sensor reading on the diagnostic tool)? Did they do an injector leak-off test?

Is it really cold where you are? Might be you need to do the double-glowplug trick (Turn car on, wait for glow plug light to turn off, turn car off and on again, wait for glow plug light to go out, start car)
