CO2 emission value

Hi there, I have imported a Prius hybrid 2016 from Japan and need to submit CO2 emission value to DVLA.The CO2 value has to be the one at time of the vehicle’s first registration ( which was in Japan).

Any guidance in resolving this will be much appreciated.

Can the importer help? When I've looked into this in the past it can be very difficult, mainly due to the fact that a model & spec sold in Japan will probably never have been subject to the same emissions test required in the EU. If a CO2 figure cannot be obtained then the default is to tax the car on the old pre-2001 PLG VED rates based on engine size. Of course, that's not great for a 2016 Prius 1.8 which would probably otherwise have qualified for free road tax...
