it's a bit wrong ..

If they don't allow plates like N 1 GGA - they should allow tht either ..

Jihad has many meanings.. in different context.. from defending your family against opression to fighting between the believers and non believers of Islam...

By the way.. before this thread gets closed down.. i aint trying to start anything.. we are adult enough to speak on such things..

yeah .. agreed on the all adults thing ..

I just know they try and clamp down of anything that may cause offence .. (like derogatory words or rasist types) .. I think the "77" must have got through ..

I'm sure in this day and age J 1 HAD ain't available ..

There was a car on the handling track with the rather subtle number plate BL03 JOB. Went looking for it for the obligatory photo but couldn't find it again.

aye.. it was a photo finish...

an action replay... and a slowmo was needed to ensure the correct outcome was made...

Just wondering if it causes the owner any aggro? ;)

Myself I don't give a toss about colour/race/beliefs/profession etc etc.

So long as you don't wear Burberry  Sorry :D

I said the same thing to Fizz, i couldn't believe DVLA would issue it but looking at it now i didn't realise the numbers were 77 instead of 1 so i can see how it slipped through

Hope he didn't have a "on a mission" sticker in the back screen btw

a Jihad is an Islamic (apologies if i get this wrong) word for 'holy war'.

9/11 was claimed by Al-queda to be a jihad on the US...

a Jihad is an Islamic (apologies if i get this wrong) word for 'holy war'.

Correct, though not quite as it seems.

The original and intended meaning of 'Holy War' is in the spiritual plane, not the real world. This meaning has been corrupted to the point that Jihad is now thought of as Terrorism.

In it's true context, having JIHAD on a number plate is really no different to a Christian having the fish symbol on the back of their car. BUT, in these post 9-11 times I can see why the plate may well be controversial.
