Spotted 1983 Toyota Starlet

Just spotted a 1983 Toyota Starlet being driven very slowly by old lady through the centre of Hereford.  The car looked in remarkable condition, probably driven for local shopping trips.

I failed to get the reg number other than it was the old Y reg, which dates it at 1982-83.  These are certainly a extremely rare site on UK roads, in fact can't remember the last time I saw one.

 I have a delapidated 1983 Toyota Starlet sitting under a tree in my garden!

It was my Father- in- law's  and he had it from new so I have all the paperwork and 2 keys!

All my children learnt to drive in it.

It has a lot of sentimental value.

Does anyone know where I could get it renovated please?

Hello Linda, welcome to the club.

A quick Google comes up with Bridge classic cars Ipswich.

But, and a big but,is the potential cost and time doing it, even by professionals.

If it is not rusted out underneath, and the engine can be got going with re commissioning,oil and fluid changes etc, then you might have a chance.

Please understand though that restoring cars that have been stood for years, especially out in the weather, can cost in the tens of thousands, and more.

But if no rust on body and underneath, and a healthy budget,may be possible and worth it for the understandable sentimental value.
