Gearbox/differential drag

Members may have already seen this before!

I had my clutch replaced to cure the dreaded vibration 1500/2000 RPM it now run perfect, like a different car!

but my MPG dropped from an average of 62 mpg to 52 mpg , to cut a long story short it turns out the garage drained the gearbox to remove the drive sharft but didnt refill with the correct oil (LV API GL -4 SAE75 W)

anything else causes massive drag in the differential, had me head scratching for a while but it's there in the handbook under oil specification

There are so many variables, the weather being the major one recently, a new clutch will take 3-500 miles to bed in fully

do you know what they put in it, the wrong oil can kill a gearbox, ie. gl5 will destroy the bearings - drop the oil and put in new
