Brake Change

Hi,

The time has finally come to change the discs and pads on my car! Anyone know what size discs/pads required, and recommendations for brand? What do Toyota use for OEM? Is replacing them myself a bad idea?

It's a gen. 3 Yaris hybrid.

Hi,

I can recommend Blueprint for discs and pads or Febi as aftermarket replacement, for pads also a quality ones are EBC Ultimax, Textar, Brembo, Bosch, Jurid, only avoid the very cheap and unknown brands and those from Far East which some of them aren’t even offered officially in Europe and has no E markings on them. I use Blueprint discs and they are very good plus ebc pads, but all above will do it . No need to be oem Toyota as they will be made from some of these suppliers. Here you can find part numbers and search on eBay and Amazon. Brake fluid change also a good idea , cleaning and lubricating slider pins , properly cleaning hubs from rust and debris and dry fit everything is essential to complete the job correctly. 👍

Buy Bosch pads and discs and you will be fine. They usually have full-body zinc protection. Find a dealer for your region and send them your VIN number, they will know the exact parts you need.
