Fog lights are useless?

I fitted a pair of these and they work really well and not too pricey. I work nights and travel to and from work on country roads in darkness and I found these brilliant for spotting standing water during recent bad weather.

Probably but they'd be pricy I'd imagine.

I've ordered these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403716961032?var=673636061682

Not too expensive and should do what I want as I believe the led dipped beams are a similar colour temperature.

Well I finally got round to fitting these and I can't get them to go in at all.

From what I can see although the lugs are correct the inner metal base of the bulb is too wide.

@Yugguy1970

That is disappointing and frustrating. i thought they were meant to be a standard size.

I'm not sure they are Lucas that you describe, the Silver Sabre's were a typical 70's lamp which was a heavy chrome lamp and had a red Lucas motif on the top of the rim.

Raydots had a heavy chrome dot in the middle of the glass lens which always seemed pointless to me

Notek blue dot, classic looks.

Why not fit Philips led lamps. A proper lamp with Philips reputation Philips Ultinon Essential H8/H11/H16 LED Car Headlamp bulbs (Twin) £54.99 on eBay. I used their early H7 bulbs and they were a good replacement, far better than the Firips Chinese versions.

I have looked at these yes.  Did you get any bulb failure messages?

The H7 never gave any error readings but they weren't in a CHR
