My Toyota Auris 2007 heater control switch is jammed.

My control switch is jammed in one place and will not move left or right. The problem that I am having is that it is only facing on one direction (center) and I can not get it any heat either to the windscreen or the carpet.

I have had the control panel replace, I have also had the cable that is connected on the back replaced. but can not find get it to work. can anyone help please
