2012 Vellfire - Loud Exhaust / Drone over 2,000 RPM

Hi Guys,

Have it booked in to be looked at, but wondered if anyone has experienced this?  Trying to predict my stress levels (hopefully just a hole in the exhaust) or what parts I may need to source if more serious.

Seems to be after it has had service covering CVT oil change (not flushed, just 5l added/rotated), oil filter, new spark plugs, air and cabin filters.  It has also been undersealed at this time, could something had been disturbed near the muffler or be something else to check?

- At any speed when the RPM's go over 2,000 RPM the exhaust sounds very loud and throaty/rough

- When RPM drops down again all sounds smooth and nice, very quiet

- Have checked what I can with the air intake box in engine bay - clips and everything seem secure (not checked O ring)

- No fuel smell or smoke

- There is some condensation (no fuel smell) dripping near the back box through one of the 3 holes in the underside guard, but its hot and have aircon on constantly at the moment - normal?)

Could it be anything else causing this?  Anyone had anything similar on theirs?  Loose coupler somewhere or something more sinister going on?

Thank You

The damp spot near the rear of the car is just your rear AC condenser doing its job. pretty normal as alphard has front and rear condensers.

the exhaust noise maybe its touching somewhere on the bodywork. when running the car block the exhaust with your hand (do it when cold so not to burn hand)

Is this a Hybrid? CVT fluid is only on hybrid cvt boxes? could be wrong as 3.5 uses different fluid to the 2.4

Sorry for late reply, it actually feels near the front, so could be air box when had a new filter changed if something wasn't secured or making contact somewhere like you said.  To answer your question, its a 2.4 petrol so CVT gearbox.

Does 'feel' like vibration drone.  May check this out....    https://www.toyotanation.com/threads/air-intake-tube-vibrating-droning-noise.370195/?fbclid=IwAR2RHvjHaGURRquq_oaGO1WpjQ1Mqcc4eo6WHcl9TMNsj0zQ3I58BMksfUQ
