Replacement key for Toyota IQ

Sorry if this has been posted before!

I have a second hand 2010 Toyota IQ. The car only came with one key fob and I just lost it..

I can't just replace the key with a mechanical key because there is no mechanical option and the fob also turns on the ignition. I called Toyota and he told me I was pretty much fd since the car is a second hand private import.

Any advice on what I can do and how much it might cost? Thanks so much

That happened to me, too, and Toyota replaced the driver's door plug, and supplied & coded two new keys, all for some 390 pounds back in 2014. It took them 2-3 weeks, though. Good luck!

The dealer will not be interested as its an import, you will have a mechanical key in side the fob in case of a dead Battery, to start the car you just put the key fob near the start button, then press the button to start

Can you PM me your vin as there are 2-3 different fobs
