Hi,

I replaced blown 7.5 ac fuse to compressor. But clutch was dead. I have now replaced the ac clutch and all works OK for awhile then the fuse blows. Next I intend to change the relay. Is there anything else in the cct that could be blowing the fuse. I have no wiring diagram.

Thanks. Danny

It's a simple circuit 1 fuse 1 relay on the supply side, the a/c amp runs the control side

i take you verified the dead clutch by take its resistance or fed it 12v

the relay may have arced over or corroded and gone high resistance or the pump is not long for this world

MK1 and Mk2 the boxes are in the same location

Thanks Flash,

I did measure the resistance of the coil after taking it off and found it to be dead. I will change the relay and report back. If it still blows after that I will have to check the wiring. Front of car off again 😒. But nice to know that there is nothing else in the circuit.

Does anyone know what the size of the air gap should be on the ac clutch.
