Breaking 2023 Aygo X - Ebay

Just look at this !!! I can only assume the chassis has been damaged !!

In my day as a Panel Beater/Paint Sprayer (the old name for a proper so called Vehicle Refinisher or whatever they are called nowadays).

Totally shocking how the insurance companies are just adding to the massive "throwaway" attitude that the world has today.

If it was a Limited Edition, I would have been interested in what the price would have been for the front heated seats, wiring and dashboard switches 😆

However, trying to pull a positive out of this, it does mean, for us Aygo X owners, there are going to be parts for us !!

Hi Bobby, I think many owners have found themselves in the same position when the car has been in an accident but what appears to be very little damage and could be repaired.

But insurance companies write perfectly good cars off on as the cost to repair out ways the percentage value.

Sad but a reflection on as you say the throw away society. Let's hope the parts benefit other owners.👍

A lot of cars/parts are recycled, not 'thrown' away. Whether the parts are sold onto to others, or the materials are (where possible) re-used its not going into landfill. Insurance is a business and it's about ££££. The car is sold onto the breakers, and they make their money selling parts - no one makes anything if it goes to landfill....

Watch this video about how cars are dismantled and parts are sold on, and materials are recycled at a modern centre.

Yep, I am aware if this and most parts are recycled.  Some people think buying a electric car is 100% doing good for the planet, but you should read the stories on the massive stock piling all over the world with the batteries from those cars.  Apparently it's very time consuming breaking them down and is a specialist job, not just your average breakers guy !!.

The right back wheel isn't where it's supposed to be. Damage can be seen in the series of 12 photos on that advert.

I wouldn't be surprised if it dropped off somewhere and wouldn't want to buy the repaired car for 50 percent discount either. Which is not even a realistic price.

It's a 2023 car. Who would want to buy it for any price..

Yes, clearly damage to the chassis/subframe.  Looking at some cars in Autotrader which have a write off category but have been repaired, some are not damaged subframes, but the insurance companies still write them off...in these instances, it's because the repair shops give the stupid quotes to fix them back to the insurance companies and most parts on cars today are bolt on and bolt off, there is no skill or long time consuming process in doing that.  Maybe it's because of all the electronic wizardry in the cars today !!

Easily fix by Arthur Tussik or Nissan china guys but hey, here is England and cars like that goes recycled.

That is scrap, It's had the rear beam torn out of it, modern cars will rip sheet metal in an accident, it may cost 70% of the value of the car to repair and the owner will not want it back, take into account parts may be on back order insurer will be paying out for a hire car, plus under a year old they will replace the car with new for structural damage, IMHO it may even be a cat B, so parts only never to see the road again

no airbags have gone so likely parked when hit, what ever hit it went under the poor Aygo's rear

See the rear bumper and the plate under it. Not broken,  not bent as far as I can see.

So ...  more likely dropped from a height than hit from behind.

Photos taken in bad light but still clear enough,  it seems.

But true it's scrap and nobody will want it for any price.

Look at the rear wheel drivers side, come to think of it some Toyota parts fitter didn't have it on a 2 post lift properly and it fell off

I saw a car bent one time cause it was parked on a higher level and pushed to a lower level by an other young driver. Only 1.2 'm I guess but bent frame.

Here damage is on one side mainly so you could well hit the jackpot with your idea.

Falling from 1 meter is enough to have a total loss. Jumps like the "dukes of hazards" or "blues brothers" are ok for the movies. Often you can read afterwards how many cars were wrecked in these movies.. usually a lot.
