I am write purely for information.  My car had Smart Connect and my phone was connected for Android Auto.  The map was displayed.

I asked AA for route directions but wholly unrelated responses appeared on the AA display.   At the same time AA offered the route home or the my last petrol station.  As the distances increased it offered another previous destination but voice commands were ignored.

About 15 minutes later the radio audio ceased, DAB or FM.

When we arrived at destination I rebooted the phone and shut the car down.

Resuming our journey DAB was silent and reported no devices,  FM now worked.

I connected my phone.  Voice commands now working and so was DAB.

Short answer, shut car down, wait for xxx minutes and restart.
