Ticking noise

I have a Toyota Yaris 2009, noticed a slight ticking noise under bonnet when idling, checked the oil level and it all looks fine. Any ideas what this could be?

Hello Abbie, welcome to the club.

I am far from the most mechanically minded here, but if just a slight ticking on idle, then I would guess it's just the camshaft opening the valves,if so, normal and nothing to worry about.

With the caveat that the oil is clean and not old,ie regular oil changes have been done.

What miles are on it?
