Got a Black Friday popup today about a new Nextbase Dashcam,  $50 off.  I found more info and Halfords are selling two models.  One if about £350 and the other £400.  There is a third higher definition.

These are always on, 140 degree forward, 180 degree inside the car and will monitor 360 degrees in a car park.

Like Smart Connect they can be cloud based.  The basic is free but for £7/m you get most of the cloud functions.  For £10 you get all, though there are two functions planned yet not enabled yet.

I bought my Toyota a few weeks back from Johnsons Toyota in Liverpool, and they had an offer to supply & fit a Nextbase Dashcam wired-in for, I think, £260.  Normal price from them was £299, if I remember correctly.

Yes, the 380GW is the one fitted in my car.  Seems fine though.

I can recommend Viofo equipment. Lots of toys, including 4k quality, GPS, etc, for those with a perky wallet. Those with a slim wallet can find something tasty, too. Even cheap ones are singing and dancing. Check this out.

I have the Dealer fitted Nextbase 322GW in my C-HR, while the wife has a Nextbase 380GW fitted to her Yaris.

My son has a Nextbase 412GW fitted to his Aygo.

While talking of dealer fitting,  make sure they fit a rear camera out of your sight line.  I think the ideal position might be low left (RHD) in the swept area and behind the rear headrest sight line.

I had mine moved from screen dead centre to upper left and outside the swept area.  This does not cause any issues.

Most of them just needed batteries, some just needed gentle persuasion to charge, I have 5 that are basically dead with more seriously faults. It is the same camera as the Aguri DX1000.

Almost everyone I know or who I have met recently has one now in their car. 🙂
