Yaris Cross front fog lights

Hi everyone.

I finally decided to fit my aftermarket front fog lights (spot lights). They came with full wiring harness, relay and dash button.

Hapily i found out that the original wiring is in place, so for the moment i just installed the new spots and connected to the plugs.

The orginal front fogs, are controlled from the light lever on the steering, not a button.

I am thinking of 2 (3) options:

1. Find the wire that operates the rear fog light (its already functioning) and connect the front fogs to the same wire (will work with the lever)

2. Find the wire coming from the front fogs, and install the aftermarket switch on a blank space on the dash

and 3. (costly, out of discussion) : Replace the lever, with the one with front fogs option, so that i have original setttings and operation.

Waiting for your ideas and exprerience... Below are some photos.

I would be tempted to look for a second hand lever from a breakers.

Second choice would be a separate on/off switch mounted in the switch bank. I believe you will need a warning lamp if they are on, but it can be a part of the switch or next to it.

Personally, I don't think I would wire into existing rear fog lights.

If the original factory wiring was already present I would suspect the fitment of the correct type lighting stalk would also activate the warning light for front fogs when used.

You might need to fit a fuse & / or relay in the factory locations - you will find out when you upgrade the stalk.

Thanks for the responses.

The wiring harness i have, already has a relay and fuse on it.
And the button, has its own led light and that will be the only indication they are on (will not show on the dashboard like the factory ones)

I think the best option is to track down the original wire from the fogs, and continue with the harness i have (relayx fuse, plug and button)

I prefer to do things myself, and even if i could find a used lever, i should have to find someone to install it...due to airbags etc..will see.
